  Oh the weirdness: Observations from a study

  i started studying jw with a work friend because she used to keep me at arms length and i knew it was because of her religion.

  she and her family are such lovely people so i thought maybe there was something to it, how bad can it be, etc.

  i was enticed by this girls friendship as she has been spending more time with me but continues to say "you're not one of us yet" which continually freaks me out.

  JWs came to my door asking for deaf people

  two ladies came to my door asking for deaf people.

  it was a wham-bam-thank-ya man type of approach, they seemed eager to get to the next door.. all i gathered from their presentation, if i were just a normal householder, was that they were from some sort of religious group (they did not give their name) and that they wanted me to freely give out names and phone numbers of the deaf friends i know.

  i said i didn't know any deaf people and they were on their way.. i knew exactly what was happening, but for most people it would just be an odd break in their daily routine.

  These are pretty badass. Much cheaper than building the tooling for a part that may or may not work out. One off parts can easily be created for pennies.

  I'd like to talk to some ex-JW couples

  i know a few of the guys here started to fade and managed to bring their wives and family along on the exit.

  i will be sending some of you a pm or fb message some time soon.. are there any ex-dub ladies here who managed to influence your husband to re-examine and eventually quit the borg?.

  it is very difficult to get to the genuine personality of an indoctrinated jw but if anyone can do it, a loving spouse can.

  I was just honest with my wife. I told her I couldnt pretend to go to meetings and enjoy it just for the sake of the kids. We had agreed on this during the early stages of exodus. But at some point, i had to come clean and say its not for me anymore.

  Barb Anderson's articles were paramount in helping her wake up. I didn't want to be that husband that pestered the shit out of her about leaving the JW. I wanted her to find out on her own (which she did).

  Paradise Earth for JW's the same as Heaven for other Christian groups?

  i've often thought it weird how jar hoover was going to lovingly murder all non jw's soon (terms and conditions apply and are subject to 'overlapping').

  then the good ones would live in paradise happy that their family, friends and loved ones all died because jar hoover would mess with their minds.. recently i've been worshipping in a church but the same scenario has posed itself in a different way.

  if good christians go to heaven whilst family, friends and loved ones who don't believe go to hell...........what's the difference from believing that to believing the jw nonsense???????.

  I remember being told that we won't have any memory of the "old" system so we won't be sad that our JW buddies who led double-lives didn't make it to the paradise.

Side note: if we take a day and substitute a year as a day, then its 35 years which is more accurate). However bear in mind that a handful of "spiritual men" will conclude they THEY are chosen by God to oversee your work much like the current system of things. But just igore this fact since god doesn't exist anyway and somebody has to be in control. Hey, did we tell you about the grapes? Its going to be a never-ending quickbuild and your back won't hurt anymore." <insert JW fapping sound here>

  the latest oct. watchtower has an article that seems to be controversial amongst us "apostates.

  " it's a long complicated article with tons of confusing names and dates, but in the end it sums it up and says:.

  "to sum up: the bible clearly states that there was an exile of 70 years.

  Looking at Obves's post, I have to ask:

  Does it seem like JW's religion is "truth" if there is that much math to do to be able to figure out a prophecy?

  Think for a moment all the JW's in 3rd world countries who have trouble with math or simple calculations (or even JW's in advanced countries). Does it seem fair to come up with this BS prophecy stuff, crazy mathematical wizardry, etc. so that they can accept the prophecy and believe? What if they can't understand it? Would you agree/accept/buy-into something you didn't fully understand?

  I think most people have a difficult time grasping this prophecy/fullfilment crap when numbers are involved. Of course, Jesus spread the message using a slide-rule and calculator since mental math was of premier importance during his time (if you believe in fairy-tale historical figures).

  Does anyone else get the feeling that these GB nutcases are acting very similar to the catholics who observe lent? Here they are, Brothelites busting ass in the early morning hours...finally getting some chow served, and they have to display the most supreme self-control and instead choose to feed on "gods spiritual food". Are they trying to show how much they love god by this nonsensical dislplay of self-control? For what? What reason is there to go thru the daily text while your shitty breakfast gets colder and colder? Sounds like something the Pharisee's would have done.

  Im sure that starving yourself while trying to listen and meditate on information has to be really effective. Remember those tests you took in high-school on an empty stomach cause you overslept and didn't have time to eat?

  Nothing more than an organization full of complete tools.
